Dance-craze action as the penetrating world of comic books dissects the crass commercialism behind one of America's most transparently manufactured fads - The Twist!

No wait, they don't do anything like that.
Twist twist twist, twist twist twist, my baby's got twist fever, twistin' in the wind! Also, if anybody has a copy of QUADRO GANG comics they want to part with, we would TOTALLY do a "Stupid Comics" about that one, because we hear whatsername who wrote and drew it is REALLY sensitive when people mention her comic online.
mr_sadhead5/2/08 10:13 am (local) "Catherine, you take the men and I'll take the girls". And this is post-Code, right?

parasitegirl5/2/08 11:52 am (local) Was "NEVER TOUCH YOUR PARTNER" code for "America, relax, the music is sung by a black man but we've taken steps to ensure that your children stay CLEAN AND WHITE"?

http://www.geocities.com/nenslo/p2/q.htmlThis is a 'worst comics' site similar to Stupid Comics, they did a thing on "Quadro Gang" and got all sorts of amazing hate mail from the creator.

hooverdam5/2/08 11:50 am (local) Yow. I found this, too. Both of these links just raise more questions, namely:
a) when can you get that Harvey New Kids comic, seeing as how it's all timely now that they've announced a reunion
b) if you ever find the ISKCON comic, I will immediately post stories about growing up on the other side of the mountain from those guys

cmndr_x5/2/08 11:11 am (local) I came across some Quadro Gang comics years ago while sifting through a comic shop's bargain bin. Flipped through them and was pleasantly surprised...to find out the awfulness wasn't overhyped. The comics equivilent of someone's crappy and otherwise unpublishable vanity press novel, except during the brief 80's B&W comics boom when any fool who could scrape together enough cash to pay for printing was getting their awful black and white comic out there because it was guaranteed money for sure you betcha.
I left them in the bin, though because even at 25 cents they were overpriced.

Man, I can't believe there's still Dell comics I've never heard of still popping up. Nice cover, though.

sobieniak5/3/08 08:04 pm (local) This his the kind of comic I wouldn't mind picking up on Free Comic Book Day, too bad they don't make 'em this campy bad.
Of course, I prefer Hank Ballard's rendition more than Chubby's too!
